In Louisiana, businesses may be closed or inaccessible for months. These companies may also lay off their workers. Employers must provide employees with 60 days' notice of a potential closure or reorganization. If an employer has more than 100 full-time employees, it is required to give employees 60 days' notice of the disaster before closing its doors. This law, however, allows employers to exempt themselves from this rule if the business suffered a loss of revenue from the affected area.
